Ingredients
  

Filling
  • 2 cups fresh blueberries or frozen
  • 1 tablespoon sugar adjust based on sweetness of blueberries
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed
Topping
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Method
 

Prepare the Filling
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine the blueberries, sugar, and lemon juice. Toss gently to coat the blueberries evenly.
Prepare the Topping
  1. In another mixing bowl, mix together the oats, flour, brown sugar, melted butter, cinnamon, and salt until crumbly.
Assemble and Bake
  1. Spread the blueberry mixture evenly in a baking dish. Sprinkle the oat topping over the blueberries.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the blueberries are bubbly.
Serve
  1. Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream.
