- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a round cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Toss the sliced cherries in a spoonful of flour to prevent them from sinking during baking.

- In another bowl, cream the sugar and softened butter until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, followed by sour cream; mix until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients until just incorporated. Gently fold in the floured cherries.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the surface. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
