Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries chopped
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon

Method
 

  1. In a large bowl, mix warm milk and yeast; let sit for 5 minutes until frothy. In another bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and salt. Gradually add the yeast mixture and melted butter to form a soft dough.
  2. Knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Place in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot for approximately 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  3. Roll out the dough into a rectangle about half an inch thick. Brush with melted butter, sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mixture and chopped strawberries. Roll tightly into a log shape.
  4. Slice into 12 equal pieces and place cut-side up in a greased baking dish. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes while preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Bake for about 25 minutes until golden brown. Let cool slightly before drizzling with icing if desired.
