Ingredients
  

Sauce Base
  • 1 cup soy sauce preferably low sodium
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger
  • 1 tablespoon gochujang Korean chili paste
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds toasted, for garnish

Method
 

Prepare the Sauce
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, minced ginger, gochujang, and black pepper.
  2. Whisk the ingredients together until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is smooth.
  3. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  4. Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with toasted sesame seeds.
