  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and sugar until combined.
  3. In another bowl, mix eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until blended.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just mixed.
  5. Divide batter between prepared pans; bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. While cakes cool, whip together softened butter, powdered sugar, and peanut butter until fluffy.
  7. Once cooled, layer cakes with frosting in between and cover the entire cake with remaining frosting.
