  • 1.5 tsp baking powder
  • 1.5 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 0.5 cups vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease/flour two round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Combine wet and dry mixtures; mix until just combined. Gently fold in chocolate chips.
  5. Divide batter between pans and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool cakes in pans for ten minutes before transferring to wire racks. Frost between layers and top as desired.
